It has been over twenty years since I decided to go into business for myself and it has been quite the ride. I started it when I had a falling out from my last employee job, what I thought would be my dream job in my dream industry. It was then I realized that for me and my personality, the only dream job would be if I worked for myself.
From a single computer repair business to web design and SEO, to a complete managed services business for small to medium-sized companies, the growth has been something to see. However, something had to change. I had grown too large and was no longer able to handle everything myself. I found myself turning down work simply because the time it would require was more than I had available. Something needed to be done.
Right around the time I started to realize this, a friend of mine, who owned a computer repair shop and technology company in historic downtown Plant City, approached me to see if I would buy the company. She too was going through a life change and wanted a new direction, but did not want to close the business, a valuable resource in Plant City. She asked me if I knew anyone who would want to buy it. I did, a long-time friend with over 40 years of experience in the IT world. My first thought was just to have him buy it but then, thinking about my own predicament, I decided to buy it with him. This has led to today’s announcement, that my companies below, will merge with Blue Thumb Technology Group:

All these companies have a similar mission and focus. Taking the hassle of technology off the small business owner’s shoulders, and outsourcing it to us, for a fraction of the cost. This mission has not changed. So now all these companies will be transitioning to Blue Thumb. By doing so, there will be a greater economy of scale and greater resources, which will result in an ability to handle a greater client workload. No more waiting days or weeks for an appointment.
So, what does this mean for my existing clients? You can expect the same level of service and relationship, with additional bodies to help.
I want to thank you all for your continuing loyalty over these 2+ decades. My business existed solely by word of mouth and I have formed some deep friendships with you over the years. That part will not change.
